Beat provides a hosted Snowflake instance. You can choose to use it, or create your own Snowflake account and importing data there.

The documentation we provide is meant to allow you to host this anywhere you want. However, we recognize that Snowflake instances can become expensive to operate, especially if you do not respect performance aspects or have needs that move outside of what we outline.

So, while we recommend that you customize the data processing we outline in Snowflake, we will be monitoring how compute- and data-intensive your processing really is. And if we notice that your processing adds significant cost to our setup, we will ask you to move to use your own Snowflake account.

When you use Beat’s hosted account, we will do the initial configuration, and may assist in some debugging of the methods we recommend. It also means that we will have read access to your data in the same format as you do. If you chose to self-host, Beat will not have access to your Snowflake, and will not be available to assist.
